Randy Mearns St. Bonaventure Head Coach NLL MLL

Season:

2

Episode:

43

The renowned Randy Mearns took a leap of faith off the coaching diving board in 2017 and left a strong Canisius College Men's Lacrosse program, where he played and earned his diplomas, to assist a 'virtual' upstart in St. Bonaventure, which briefly sponsored NCAA D1 lacrosse, to try and 'start with a clean slate.' After a winless season in 2019 and no victories in the pandemic-shortened 2020 campaign, the Bonnies posted their first win during the modern era against a scrappy Bellarmine team a week ago and for a short glimpse everybody stopped to enjoy the moment, including Mearns. But the blink of momentary glee is not lost on Mearns, who has played and coached this game at the highest level. He's strapped up with names like Gait, Snider, Merrill and Sanderson, but its a Muffin Man story that leaves you wanting to know more about this friendly, insightful and likeable St. Catherine's native. Check this interview out because Randy discusses a wide variety topics, but you really have to appreciate just how much Mr. Mearns married about his capacity and for that he has Connie to thank...
